Global initiatives of ICT in Education and road to achieve Digital Bangladesh, largely depends on the successful development of the Connectivity Infrastructure, Content Development and Capacity Building. Considering these issues, Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) has been designed under Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) being implemented by University Grants Commission of Bangladesh. BdREN aims to provide a high capacity network for connecting all universities and research organizations in Bangladesh, create necessary applications and services and build human network to use the resources efficiently.BdREN launched its journey in 2012 with a pilot network connecting five public universities, one private universityand UGC. The full network is under implementation and will be operational very shortly.Before starting for the full network, an International Partner (IP) was appointed under HEQEP forproviding support to enrich the technical design of the network and capacity building of the manpower through Trainings, Facility visits and Internships. The International Partnership was a consortium of Kent State University, USA, Ohio Academic Resources Network (OARNet) and Ireland's National Research and Education Network (HEANET). Under this partnership a fellowship visit program will take place on "Virtual Class Room Support and Management Visit for BdREN and University Team" at Kent State University (KSU), USA for seven (7) days. The probable date for the visit may be duringMay/June, 2016
BdREN aims to connect universities and research organizations to facilitate research collaboration. With a view to enable resource sharing and facilitate the students with better education, BdREN has established virtual classroom at 33 public universities. This is one of the most significant establishments though which universities will be able to enjoy remote lecturing, collaboration through video conferencing etc. in home and abroad. To ensure effective utilization, faculties require knowledge sharing on the use of virtual classroom and policy knowledge for implementing such environment. Therefore, the fellowship is designed with the following prime objectives:

The BdREN Fellowship Selection Committee will select the fellows based on the following procedure. The committee will determine the selection criteria.
Only short-listed applicants will be invited for a discussion regarding the best utilization of virtual classroom.
